The new iPhone 3Gs

Apple and Rogers have come up with the iPhone, as you all know. They now have something even better: the iPhone 3Gs! It is about 2x faster than any of the iPhones, has a touch screen, and has as many programs as you can think of! For instance: It has text messaging like any other ordinary phone, a calendar to find out the date as you all could have guessed, a built-in camera and video camera, a shortcut to youtube, a shortcut to stock information, a built-in navigation system, a shortcut to the weather, a shortcut to voice memos to record your voice, notes to keep reminders in, a world clock, an alarm, a stopwatch, a timer in one shortcut! It also contains a regular and scientific calculator, a shortcut to iTunes, an internet shortcut, a shortcut to your mail, a shortcut to your iPod, a compass, and of course, a phone!!! There is something which I think is one of the coolest in the world: a voice recorder!!! It contains a voice recorder that records what you say to open programs; for instance: you can say, “open phone” and unless heard wrong, it will automatically open the phone shortcut; and it does it for any other program, like the applications and all of the shortcuts that I mentioned beefore in the list. You can also go to the Application Store to download a bunch of awesome, cool new games!!! I have one and I am telling you, I would seriously suggest getting one; and once you get one, you will never want to stop using it! Here are some photos which I got off of the internet and google.

Why are our childhood heroes becoming more inappropriate?

One day, I was in a movie theater watching Transformers. There was this scene that contained a bit of really mature humor. Then behind me I heard and saw a kid ask his mother, “What is masturbation?”, then his mother and her son left the theatre as soon as the mom heard it. And then there’s this other scene in the dark knight that made a family leave the cinema. And I heard this kid leaving a theatre playing Iron man asking, “What is playboy?”.

Right now you’re probably wondering what I’m talking about. I’m talking about why are our favorite super hero and action characters are becoming/ getting more and more unsuitable for younger audiences. Right now millions of kids won’t be able to see there favorite T.V. or comic heroes on the big screen. It is really sad and sickening that our favorite childhood characters won’t be able to be seen by our new generation kids. And even if they can see their heroes they’ll be “CORRUPTED”. After the kids see the movies they’ll start saying all the bad things they saw on screen.

Why are movie directors making children unable to see their movies? I know that they’re trying to cope with the mature audience, but it’s just too many mature themes! Seriously! Even if I’m in middle school, I think it’s sad that kids can’t see their favorite heroes on the big screen and if they do, they’ll start swearing and saying inappropriate stuff! I admit I do like the movies it’s just that the mature humor just isn’t that, well, mature.

God of War 3

In honour of E3 I will tell you guys about some of the games being shown there. One of the biggest titles to be shown is God Of War 3. God Of War 3 is suppost be so violent and brutal that you are guaranteed to get a heart attack in the first 15 minutes and they’re not lying!

After seeing them show one of the first levels at E3 of Kratos killing a lion-snake-bull animal by ripping off it’s tail, sticking it in its mouth and then ripping off its horn and stabbing it all the way through its head. This all happens as a giant lava god is trying to swipe at him.

You have to see this demo on either G4tv.com or Youtube. I can’t wait for this game but sadly it will not be released until March 2010.

Do sequels and remakes suck or are they for the better of it?

If you ask anyone about sequels or remakes, they’ll probably say they can’t wait to see it, but the end result isn’t usually good. Even I admit that I get excited about sequels, but the results aren’t just what I want.

The thing I dislike about remakes is that they always take away something important or change a major theme of the plot. Sequels usually end up good if they have a trilogy, somehow trilogies are always good. Like star wars and the lord of the rings. Movies that don’t have trilogies aren’t usually good. Like men in black 2, terminator 3, spider-man 3, and fantastic4 2.

And also with most thing like toys, games, comics, and movies, the first ones are usually the best, but the newer ones always end up really crappy. Only a few of them get better as time passes by, but it’s not the majority.

What is happening to all the “advances of movies getting better as more time goes by!!!!!!

Canada’s Wonderland

On May 28th, the middle & high school went to Canada’s Wonderland for a science review and had an awesome trip! We played a bunch of games, went on a bunch of scary rides that were so sick!!! The only down side to it was that it was raining, so they had to close down some rides. Altogether though, it was amazing!!! The middle and high school students left at about 9:15, ate lunch at about 11:45, and left at about 2:30. We all saw the latest, tallest, and fastest roller coaster in Canada! The BEHEMOTH!!! I went on and believe it or not; thought it was awful. The only good part is the first drop; the rest is absolutely awful!! I have a season pass which allows me to go into the theme park 1 hour early, 20% off souvenirs, 15% off food and drinks, an early entrance to splash works, and get to go into the park free every day for the rest of the year once you have bought the pass which costs about $80.00. Uncharted 2

In honour of E3 I will tell you about some of the games being shown at E3. I’ll start with Uncharted 2. The first Uncharted was a great duck and cover game. It was like Gears of War in gameplay, Exept you don’t have chainsaws on your guns. Uncharted is like a modern Indian Jones like instead of a whip you have guns from the shotgun to the sniper.

The story is like Indian Jones because it’s about finding a treasure, but the main character Drake isn’t that much like Indy mostly because he is a grave robber (and sometimes just a robber). Also it is funny from time to time -good humour.

Not much is known about the new one exept that it take place a couple years after the first and Drake is looking for a treasure that will take him through a arctic type enviroment and a war-torn city( from the pictures and teaser trailer for the game). It also has multiplayer. But at E3 there is supposed to be new content revealed.

Uncharted 2 is coming this fall and is an exclusive to PS3 (Sorry xbox 360 owners). Also any PS3 owners that didn’t play the first Uncharted must play it. It is a great game and you will get a lot of easy trophies.

E3 is back

E3 is the electronic entertainment expo. It is is the biggest video game expo around. This June it will be in L.A. This year’s expo will be showing some of the most anticipated games of the year and also next year.

You will be able to play them if you go. You will get to play many games in development like Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Halo 3 O.D.S.T and many others. E3 will also be the place where most games will be announced.

If you can’t go to the expo that sucks and I feel your pain – I can’t go either. But there is hope: you will be able to watch over 20 hours of live coverage of gameplay, anouncement and much more on G4 tech T.V channel 90 on Rogers. Sorry I don’t know what channel G4 is on Bell or any of the other networks but it is on it.

Books and video games shouldn’t be made into movies

I think books and video games shouldn’t be made into movies. People who hear about a book or a video game made into a movie usually get excited about one being made, even I do, but usually when they are made they are missing important scenes and have to many useless details.

Take Twilight for example. It’s was a good movie, but they didn’t include IMPORTANT INFORMATION. Like how could the protagonist Bella fall in love with the Vampire Edward so fast????

The movie versions of books almost always make things go by too fast which makes things confusing. Also they delete important scenes in the book when they turn it into the movie.

The only book turned into a movie I think is good are the Harry Potter movies since they take out any unecessary scenes and keep all the good things and add little things that makes it better without changing the storyline.

And I think video games are much better staying as a video game because in a video game you can make the choices, control the protagonist, do what you wanna do and it’s also way more exciting.

In a movie you just watch and you can’t choice what you want to do, so video games are much better when they are not made into movie versions.

NHL 09

NHL 09 is the only multiplayer online game (on X-Box Live)! It has the rosters from the 08-09 NHL series. It is designed to play in high-definition gaming (H-D) and will get even better graphics if hooked up to a high definition television (H-D TV). I have bought it for my brother for his birthday, and played it with him, and thought it was AMAZING!!! Can you handle it’s power and awesomeness!?!?

X-Men Origions: Wolverine

X-Men Origions is the next part of X-Men 2. It is like the comic book except much better! The characters, story, acting, and effects are majorly outstanding! Each level is designed for a specific character. You can believe that the characters are actually real. The story is followed by Logan’s eyes and it turns out to be one sweet ride! It is better than the predictors said it would be. If you like X-Men 3, you will love this!
